Arms: Purves - Per pale Azure and Argent, a saltire couped between in the flanks two mullets of six points all countercharged overalll in pale a rod of Aesculapius Gules and in base two fern fronds their stems in saltire Gold; Cowie - Or, within a bordire Gules thereon a new Zealand koru design Argent and in orle a chain Gules charged with three Daphne-flowers Proper, a lamp of lerning also Gules enflamed Proper.

Crest: upon a helm with awreath Argent and Azure out of a circlet composed of four Daphne-flaowers Proper and four mullets of six points Argent a cat sejant Sable holding in its dexter paw a ros of Aesculapius bendwise Gules.

Crest: A cutter in full sail Proper, flagged with a banner of Scotland at the truck and at the gaff a suitable flag of hte arms aforesaid (without the said martlet)

Crest: A cutter in full sail Proper, flagged with a banner of Scotland at the truck and at the gaff a suitable flag of hte arms aforesaid (without the said martlet)
